A trade park located on the edge of Rochdale Town Centre in a high profile location on a main arterial route linking to the M62.

Aims
To develop a high quality industrial park specifically designed for trade park use that would attract well known occupiers to the site. In addition the design of the buildings would improve the appearance of a site in such a prominent location.
Challenges
The site required remediation to remove ash from the land before reforming into new levels. New services were required to increase power to the site and alterations to the public highway were also needed to accommodate the new site usage.
Solutions
Piling and vibro-compaction were utilised to stabilise the ground prior to building, requiring care not to disturb residential areas close to the site.
Benefits
The mono pitched steel frame, low level buildings incorporate both brickwork and cladded walls, improving the appearance of a previously under utilised site. The units were built as shells, to allow trade operators to fit out their premises as required.
